I am having an issue trying to figure out how to customize styles for specific items in my multi-model report. Let me outline what I am doing ...
- using PD 16.5.5 SP03, new report editor (i.e. not Legacy Reports)
- multimodel report drawing from a number of different model types (EA model, Object Oriented, etc.)
- In one of the sections, I am reporting Name and Description of a Component from an Object Oriented model
- The Name shows up in the Book Title when I add the Component object to my report
- I am using a slightly modified version of the Professional RTF template (just changed some title page things at this point)
- This ends up assigning a Header 2 style when I get to the generated RTF document
I want this to have a different style - for the sake of this use case, let's say the "Strong" style.
I have ......
- tried to assign a style in the report editor but all that seems to do is take me to where you can modify the characteristics of all the existing styles - cannot seem to make it assign a specific style to a specific report element
- I see that I can assign styles to report elements in the RTF template but I cannot seem to figure out what %element name% to use in this case (if that is indeed that way to do it)
- I looked at the language file and I see where I can change the text reported (e.g. "Component %ITEM") but no place in there where style is applied
Anyway, after hours of experimenting - I think my best move is to see if anyone here has done anything like this and can offer any advice. If I can get this use case figured out, I should be able to figure out how to customize the rest of it.
Specifically, I want to customize the style of the single report element identified above - not a universal change that will end up being applied to every other Book Title in the multi-model report.
Any advice ????
Thanks in advance
Bruce
