NLS Lang error SUM-Phase: PREP_INPUT_CHECK/DBCONNCHK_INI

$

I am migrating from sap ECC 6.0 EHP6 to EHP7 and am receiving the following error during the above phase. ERROR:The new SAP tools in X:\SUM\abap\exe cannot connect to your database. There are a couple of suggestions after this text all of which I have investigated. The Oracle 12.1.0.2 database is all ready running ssfs connection type and all parameters have been verified at the OS and instance level. The registry and the environment variables are set to AMERICAN_AMERICA.US7ASCII. I am not sure where SUM is picking up the AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8DEC value. I remember back in the days of sapinst that this was a variable you set during the configuration. SUM didn't offer me that chance, does anyone know where this value is derived from?  Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You

Troy

Sales Order Fulfillment Issue - FIORI App "No Data Available"

Hello

I have been using the FIORI app from Sales order processing called "Sales order fulfillment Issue" and recently observed that the App is correctly displaying the number of Issues only for the sales order created during today's day. Any Sales orders that had issues created the previous days are not getting shown. I opened the FIORI launchpad today morning and to my surprise Number of issues shows as 0 or "No Data available"

Any idea why this is happening? Is there a date horizon setting somewhere at the user setting level or at the application that is causing this problem?

Thanks is advance for your help

Direct download of sap download manager

HI,

I understand that for downloading from the download basket of service marketplace we need to install sap download manager.

But how can I download the sap download manager using the direct download?

On clicking the download link of the download manager in service marketplace a new blank window opens though I can see the direct download URL in the address bar.

I tried this after installing the latest JRE and adding the download URL in the exceptions list in java control panel.

What exactly is the process?

And can I download softwares from download basket without using sap download manger?

Have any idea, how can I show one variable on the variable selection screen?

Thanks in advance...

Function module for Article creation (transaction MM41)

Hello,

I have been trying to create an article which is normally done using transaction MM41.

I am trying to use BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA to do this, but since article creation is different  from regular material creation, there are fields that are not available, for example article category (MARA-ATTYP).

Another problem encountered with the BAPI is that the industry section is a required input.  For MM41 it is not a required field.

Therefore, is there an available function module aside from the BAPI mentioned above that can perform article creation?

If the BAPI above is sufficient, how can I properly populate the necessary fields?

Additional information:  requirement is developed in 4.6c.

provide the code I've been working on if asked.

Thanks in advance!

How to make SWCV GUID's identical in the ESR?

$

Hello SAP experts,

We are experiencing an issue that is part of our PI to PO migration.

The goal is to export namespaces from PI and import them in PO to a Software Component Version with the same name so that it joins existing namespaces. The problem is that the SWCV's in the ESR have different GUID's.

The GUID's can be made the same in the SLD, but we cannot achieve the same for the ESR.

To clarify: the testmigratie namespace from thePI SWCV needs to become part of the PO SWCV so that it joins thetest namespace.

PI SWCV:

PO SWCV:

After exporting the testmigratie namespace and trying to import it in ALLIANDER_I_TESTMIGRATIE 1.0 of alliander.com we get the following message: Import failed: Software component version with name ALLIANDER_I_TESTMIGRATIE 1.0 of alliander.com already exists with different software component version ID. Delete the existing one and import this one, if required

Update SLD Information from the Tools section of the PO SWCV gives the following message: GUID of software component version in SLD has changed
To import the software component version with the new GUID, create a new software component version

Both of the suggested actions are unwanted.

Any suggestions on how to proceed are most welcome.

Kind regards,

Marco

SAP FMS - Value Added Services - Mass Create VAS SD conditions

$

I am developing an import from file tool in a new SAP Fashion Management system.

We are trying to do an initial mass load of VAS SD Conditions. For manual entry, this is done using transaction code FSH_VAS_SD. I cannot seem to find any BAPI/Function Module/Idoc that can do this.

The transaction uses an ALV grid and toolbar, so BDC is not really an option.

Any assistance appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

It’s time for a beyond bias approach to diversity in the workplaces of China

$
0
0

While  Mao Zedong famously proclaimed that “women hold up half the sky” gender equality in China is still a work in progress. Having just hosted the second SAP Women’s Leadership Summit in Beijing, however, I’m firmly of the belief that the opportunities for women in business have never been stronger here.

Of course there are already some notable business women in China such as Yang Lan, Co-founder and Chairperson of the Sun Media Group and the Sun Culture Foundation, an inspiring role model who was once again kind enough to co-host the SAP Women’s Leadership Summit. Other high-profile participants included Grace Chen, the embodiment of haute couture in China, Beijing Women’s Federation vice chairwoman Zhou Zhijun and British diplomat Carma Elliot. We were also fortunate enough to have Berlin-based Yang Liu, an award-winning designer and professor in communication design, provide a video segment on her work around differences between genders, eastern and western outlooks, and how technology is changing our lives.

Digital Thinking

That last point is particularly significant in terms of women’s prospects in business. We are accelerating into the era of Industry 4.0 and Digital Business with a new wave of innovation around machine learning and advanced robotics beginning to build. This is going to result in a huge shake-up of business, workplace and jobs, disrupting the status quo. With the arsenal of transformational technologies that are at hand there is going to be a premium on innovative business thinking, for which diversity is an essentially underpinning.

Given that start-ups are a wellspring of creative business ideas, it’s interesting to see who’s starting digital businesses in China. According the State Council’s white paper on “Gender Equality and Women's Development in China” released last year, the number of female entrepreneurs keeps growing and now accounts for a quarter of the total number of entrepreneurs in China. Notably, about 55% of new Internet businesses are being founded by women.

To help sustain this entrepreneurial momentum we donated RMB 1 million to China Women’s Development Foundation to support the @Her Social Dream Program at the SAP Women’s Leadership Summit. The aim is to support the development of young women entrepreneurs in China by unleashing their potential through digital empowerment and social innovation.

Millennial Change

The impressive progress being made by women in China stems in part from the characteristics of China’s exceptional Millennial generation who are far better educated, wealthier, self-confident and digitally-savvy than their predecessors – especially so the women. According to the World Economic Forum's 2015 Gender Gap Report, China leads the world in terms the enrolment of women in higher education, with gender split 15% in favor of female students at the country’s tertiary institutions.

As China’s Millennial generation continues to flow out of the universities it is reshaping the country’s workplaces and markets. For enterprises keen to hit the marks on customers’ needs and expectations it is therefore important to ensure your workforce is representative of this generation and corporate culture embraces their perspectives. Furthermore, in light of China’s shrinking labor pool, the increasing competition for high-value skills and Government-backed business transformation initiatives such as Internet+ and Made in China 2025, embracing an inclusive work environment would seem essential to business success.

Delivering Diversity’s Dividends

So, how can companies ensure they are tapping into the power of workforce diversity? It’s a challenge that many organizations have struggled with for years, often with costly diversity programs that have yielded little success overall. A major stumbling block seems to lie with unconscious bias (that we all have) which, by definition, are hard to overcome. Even if each occurrence of bias is subtle and we tend to shrug it off as “not a big deal”, their cumulative impact over time can be significant.

Fortunately some smart technology is now available that can help to consciously address the issue. Using text mining and machine learning based on the SAP HANA platform, we’re aiming to help companies review job descriptions, performance reviews and similar people processes for potential bias and suggest changes to encourage equity. This complements existing SAP SuccessFactors capabilities – such as analytics and reports focused on diversity and inclusion – that already help address inequity.

Business Beyond Bias

SAP CEO Bill McDermott says that “none of us is as smart as all of us”, reflecting the fact that the power of workforce diversity on business and employees is real. So when you look at your workforce, remember that diversity and inclusion are good business practices. And best practices breed strong results.

Companies should step up effort to empower women in the gender-blind digital workplace, making space for diverse range of views and a more creative business culture. After all, an organization’s culture is its heartbeat, enabling it to attract new talent and helping the current workforce thrive.

HI,

We perform procurement at one plant for all our plants(strange reasons).

We use STO to move the stock from one plant to other.  Is there a standard way to crate a STO automatically when ever we create a PO to vendor.

I am aware that I can use Messages, Idocs and Custom enhancements for this. but I am looking for a standard way of doing this.

Is there any way I can create an STO when ever there is a purchase order with specific selection?

Thanks

Hello,

We have a situation at hand where in we are doing SFTP + PGP - decryption.

Our scenario is File ( SFTP ) to PI ( 7.31 SP 16) to Proxy( SAP system).

We are able to decrypt the payload from our vendor the only place where we are stuck is when we transform the output after decryption to XML. we get an "error content not allowed in prolog"

Prerequisites before J2IUN

Hello all,

I have gone through some threads, but still not getting clarity :-(

1.Kindly explain the prerequisite steps to run J2IUN.

I mean, once MM transactions (eg:j1iex) and Sales transactions (eg:J1IIN) completed, then can we go for utilization..?

Does system take automatically from all types of scenarios transactions input and output..? if not what transactions we need to perform.?

Thank you
